Board Meeting- Jan 15th, 2009 - Notes
Board Meeting Jan 15th, 2009 Attendees: John Leslie, Mike Parry (notes), Jeff Vaughan, Bill Kelsall, Phil Lopez, Harv martens Venue: Six Paupers, Hockessin Discussion Topics: Membership Drive 2009 – targeting 25 new members in the year. Mike presented the Chapter 240 Brochure draft, for mailing, distribution etc. Agreed that a permanent advertisement of the Chapter (including a poster and brochure) positioned at Brandywine Airport, Coatsville etc could attract ‘local’ flyers and new members. We should also plan to have a 240 Booth at the Brandywine Helo day, and other local aviation events. Chapter 240 ‘Open Day’ was proposed. A similar event was being discussed for the New Garden Airport; we should join that event, if it happens. Making this a membership opportunity will require planning and prep. Action - all Activity Updates Pancake Breakfast Dates agreed as: May 16, June 14 (Sunday – Air Show), July 11 and Sept 12. Air Show update. There will be an air show, June 14th. The Planning Group has been re-formed, Mike attending Chapter Projects Event was proposed and discussed; adding an ‘RV’ event as a fly-in to one of the scheduled Breakfasts could attract many local RV owners (and potential new members), with a prize for ‘flown furthest’. Other aircraft groupings could be considered at other Breakfasts (eg ‘tail-wheel event’). Action – Jeff A “Light-Sports’ Aviation event was proposed and discussed.
