Chapter Meetings - The Basics
EAA Chapter 240 holds Membership Meetings on the first Monday of each month, starting at 7pm and we aim to close at 9pm. Coffee and (sometimes) donuts are available in the meeting break. Meeting date changes or time changes are communicated via email and voice-messaging (we call you!), and by messages on the web site in the ‘Recent Posts’ section. ** SPECIAL NOTE - the September 2009 Meeting is on Tuesday September 8th, due to the Labor Day Holiday Visitors are welcome at all Membership Meetings. A typical meeting will include a presentation on a topic of interest (Taming the Tail Dragger, Oshkosh Adventures), often with a guest speaker, an update on our Restoration Project, UpComing Fly-Outs, Young Eagles events, members build-projects update etc. We also get checks on our financial condition, membership levels, EAA National News etc. Plus, there is plenty of time to meet and greet fellow members and especially our newer members. Spring, summer and Fall meetings are held in the Chapter Meeting Room, in our hangar at New Garden Flying Field airport. Click here for the current Flying Weather or driving directions. Winter meetings (November to March meetings) are held in William Penn School, Wilmington DE. Using the excellent school facilities avoids the costs of heating the Chapter hangar and meeting room during these months. Again, changes to these arrangements are posted on the web site (under ‘Recent Posts’), and will be emailed to you. Directions to the school can be found here. Have a topic you’d like us to cover? email me please. See you there! Membership Meeting Photo Read More →

Families Day at the Hangar - “Old Buzzards”
Saturday, August 15th, is the date for the “Old Buzzards” membership gathering at the Chapter Hangar, N57. “Old Buzzards” (as opposed to Young Eagles) is an annual Chapter highlight, when we and our families gather for a relaxed cook-out at the Chapter Hangar. Members also offer plane rides to those that would like them, to experience different airplanes and to see the completed project aircraft. We start at about 1pm and go through the afternoon. Please bring a dish and drinks to share. This is a great time for our newer members to get to know this great Chapter. Please plan on joining us, with your families. We look forward to seeing you at the hangar for this popular Chapter event. Read More →
