B-17 Added to Local Air Show

The New Garden Festival of Flight line-up will include the B-17G “Memphis Belle” in the 2010 air show. This wonderful aircraft will be the star performer from a very impressive list of confirmed performers for this years two-day show, Saturday and Sunday June 12 & 13th 2010. The list includes; John Mohr and his PT-17 Stearman, Manfred Radius performing his aerobatic glider routine, Kendall Simpson’s aerobatic bi-plane, Kevin Russo in his T-6 Texan and, of course, our own Matt Chapman performing his unique CAP 580 aerobatic show. The two-day Festival of Flight will also include many static displays including additional aircraft, but will also include  Military Re-enactment, Antique Cars & Motorcycles and many other displays and vendors, plus kiddies activities. The Festival web site will be updated with additional details over the coming weeks but this is going to be a major Regional, Township, Airport and EAA240 event. The Chapter Board agreed to offer our ‘increasingly famous’ Pancake Breakfasts on both days and Chapter volunteers will, as in past years, assist in the days activities.  Read More →

Holiday Party - Food ‘n Fun

The Membership started the Holiday Season with what has become a very popular Chapter activity - the EAA240 Holiday Party. Held at William Penn School - our winter meeting-place  - we gathered as friends, colleagues, aviators and EAA’rs to celebrate the season and each others company. It was a strong turn-out, with current and even lapsed members plus several guests/prospective members! Good fun was had by all, with the wealth of food matched only by the wealth of company. Many, many thanks to Pat who for the past three years has organized and overseen this popular event. The Chapters gift of flowers to Pat was a small indication of appreciation from all of us. Thanks also to Phil for his photographs of the evening:  Read More →
