Jim Rudolf’s passion for aviation is matched only by his generosity and, collaborating with Matt Chapman and Hugh Horning, Jim brought the ultimate flying machine to N57, and made some pilots dreams come true. An incredible day of aviation!
The WW11 P-51D Mustang arrived at 9.14am Sunday, and flew throughout the day, with a schedule of pilots having their dreams made real. Each pilot got a 20 min flight, with most of that at the controls of this magnificent airplane. Many of the pilots performed loops, rolls, Cubans and reveled in the amazingly smooth flying and acute responsiveness of the vintage P-51 Mustang.
After each flight, Jim presented the pilots with celebratory beautiful plaques, certificates, t-shirt and all log books were suitably endorsed by the planes owner and Chief Pilot, Dave Murphy.
Many, many, many, many thanks to Jim, and to Matt and Hugh for their special efforts in making this unique event happen.
Very special thanks to Jim, for his continued genorsity to his friends and colleagues, all in the promotion of aviation. And what a way to do it! A day we wont forget, thanks to Jim.
