From Chuck Shipman, EAA240 Hangar Manager:
During the EAA Chapter 240 March monthly meeting, I introduced the subject of a Fabric Workshop being proposed by the Board of Directors.
With the Chapters’ PA-22 Restoration Project status, we are now approaching the stage of adding fabric to the wings and fuselage and will plan to start to do so this summer and fall. Your Board is also committed to providing educational workshops on a range of topics, including fabric work and with this in mind we will offer Fabric Workshops this year.
To start the process of planning and preparation, I suggested some cost and potential dates, along with a light overview of the subjects to be addressed during the workshop. For a follow-up, the possible dates listed at the meeting are as follows:
May 21 and 28
June 4, 18 and 25
July 2 and 9
August 6 and 27
The cost for a workshop participant is dependent upon the number of members that wish to attend. The cost for training materials could exceed $1000. If 20 members participate, the cost per attending member could be less than $100. The more folks that attend, of course, lowers the cost per person.
Many families plan and schedule summer activities well in advance so it’s imperative that we set a firm date for the workshop as soon as possible. To that end, if you interested in attending the proposed fabric workshop, please review the available dates (above) that would fit you schedule and email me your preferences, firstname.lastname@example.org.
After review I’ll contact each interested member.
I look forward to seeing you at the Fabric Workshop! Please respond to the email above. Questions? email me.
