Gorgeous weather and hungry locals, pilots and kids made for a hugely successful Pancake Breakfast and Young Eagles Flights morning, last Saturday June 10th.
A strong showing from the EAA240 volunteer base ensured the Pancake Breakfast went off smoothly and we gained many new friends and positive comments on our new food items. In all we served some 183 breakfasts – a great number for a June event. Congratulations and thanks to the Breakfast team who made this such a well-received happening for the Chapter and our loyal followers!….plus the contribution to the Chapter funds!
Our Young Eagles flown totaled 48 – that’s a lot a happy faces exiting the four EAA240 aircraft. The number was unexpectedly high as a large group arrived without notice! But the EAA240 pilots and planes responded and, while it was a long and busy morning for the pilots and their aircraft, all was well and many dreams fulfilled. Our thanks to the entire Young Eagles team – led by Liz Robinson – who ensured a memorable day for all the visiting kids.
As a reminder we have TWO days of Pancake Breakfasts coming up – Saturday June 24th and Sunday 25th June – as we contribute to the Balloon Festival festivities held at the airport.
As always, our success in accomplishing the best meal experience AND a critical Chapter fund-raising opportunity is in YOUR HANDS. We’ll need all the help we can get on both days. Please ensure you free some time to come help your Chapter on one or both mornings, especially if you were not able to make last Saturdays breakfast. We’ll be looking for you.
